FoliagePal ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our mobile application and related services.

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, nickname, and profile photo. In China, you may also register with a phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google ID, email, and name from your Google account.
• Plant Data: Photos you take for plant identification, care records, growth timelines, and plant care settings you configure.
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and IP address for service delivery and security.
• Usage Data: Features you use, actions you take, crash logs, and performance metrics to improve our services.
• Location Data: With your permission, approximate location for weather-based care recommendations and regional content.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide and improve plant identification, care guidance, and AI sprite features
• Create and manage your account
• Send care reminders and notifications you have enabled
• Personalize content, recommendations, and care suggestions
• Process payments for VIP subscriptions and in-app purchases
• Analyze usage patterns to improve app performance and user experience
• Ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:

• Google Sign-In & Firebase: For authentication, crash reporting, and analytics. Google's Privacy Policy applies.
• Baidu AI: For plant image identification. Photos are sent to Baidu's plant recognition API for processing.
• Qwen (Alibaba DashScope): For care guide generation, AI sprite chat, pest diagnosis, and plant analysis. Photos may be sent for AI-powered analysis.
• Tencent Cloud COS: For storing and serving plant photos and user-uploaded images.
• Payment Providers: WeChat Pay, Alipay, Google Play for processing payments. Each provider's privacy policy applies.
• Advertising SDKs: Google AdMob (international users) and Pangle/ByteDance (China users) for displaying ads. These SDKs may collect device identifiers and app interaction data for ad targeting.
• Push Notifications: JPush (China users) for delivering push notifications. JPush may collect device registration identifiers.
• Analytics: Umami (self-hosted) for anonymous usage analytics across all users.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Plant photos and care data are retained unless you delete them. We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data only in the following circumstances: with your explicit consent, as required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or with service providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our mobile app does not use traditional cookies. We use device identifiers and analytics services (Firebase Analytics for international users, Umami for all users) to understand app usage. Advertising SDKs (Google AdMob, Pangle) may collect advertising identifiers and app interaction data for ad targeting. You can disable personalized ads in your device settings. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
